Italian Experience Project

This project was made possible in August of 2021 when I moved to Italy to study painting at the Fine Arts Academy of Florence. It started with a little challenge I made for myself to keep me focused on art during my school break - I decided I would buy a travel sketchbook and not return home to Florence until it was filled up. Thus, I jumped from one beautiful Italian city to the next, painting a page anywhere that I felt the urge to take a photo. Each piece helped me experience the places more deeply and move slower - more mindfully - through my travels.

I realized I was ready to paint much more than there was room for in my sketchbook; I was ready to fill up a whole art book for publishing! Thus, the Italy Experience Project became official. The intention of this project is to more deeply experience the moments I have in Italy through the creation of art and it will culminate in a book that showcases my best work from my study abroad experience. Below is the first batch of pieces I have created for this project. Available now in the online shop are also paper prints, canvas prints, and other art products featuring the artwork!
